Rose Quarter Transit Center Redesign - 2016
The concept for the Rose Quarter Transit Center was aimed at improving overall movement of all modes in this busy interchange. My concept anticipates the incorporation of more density, more transit access (i.e. High Speed Rail Transfers), and an overall increase in the amount of transit and cyclists that pass through this zone.
My concept was to mimic the feeling of wandering through the forest; interweaving the light rail system into a station complex that enabled more efficient transfers while creating new opportunities above ground for commerce and public space.
Not seen in this concept is my connection to my Rose Quarter | Union Station East concept. These stations would be interlinked along with the A & B line metros outlined in my Portland Regional Metro Master Plan.
